Day 01 Sunday MEXICO
Reception in the International Airport of the City of Mexico, meet and assist and transfer to the Hotel.
Day 02 Monday MEXICO - CITY TOUR
Breakfast. We will go to historic down town, Declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO since 1987. We will see the “Zócalo” or main square, the Cathedral, the Government Palace with Diego Rivera’s murals, where we will find five centuries of history of Mexico. Panoramic view of some beautiful buildings as: Mining Palace, National Art Museum, Post Office and the Alameda central park, where the Fine Arts Palace is located. Head to Reforma Avenue and Chapultepec area. Arrival and visit to Anthropology Museum, one of the most important in the world. We will visit the Mexican (Aztec) and Maya halls. You may stay there on your own and visit some other halls as: Teotihuacan, Toltec, Olmec or Mixtec-Zapotec cultures or go back to the hotel. Afternoon at leisure. We suggest an optional tour to Xochimilco´s water canals. overnight at the hotel
Day 03 Tuesday MEXICO BASILICA OF GUADALUPE & TEOTIHUACAN PYRAMIDS
Breakfast. We will go to the Three Cultures Square at Tlatelolco area. Continue to Guadalupe Shrine, the second most visited catholic sanctuary in the world. Head to the archaeological site of Teotihuacán, “where the men become gods”. We will admire this advanced culture with the Sun & Moon pyramids, the Temple of Quetzalcoatl and the Butterflies palace. Lunch. Visit to a handicraft factory and go back to the hotel. Overnight.
Day 04. Wednesday SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE - DOLORES HIDALGO - GUANAJUATO
Breakfast. Transfer to Dolores Hidalgo, where in 1810 the priest Miguel Hidalgo started the Mexican Independency movement . In this place there is a house-museum of this national hero and it is also the famous composer José Alfredo Jiménez´s birthplace. Transfer to Guanajuato, official site of the “Festival Internacional Cervantino”. Arrival and Lodging. In the evening we will enjoy meeting this beautiful city, full of alleys and plazas, which offer interesting places such as “La Alhondiga de Granaditas” “El Teatro Juarez” , “La Mina de la Valenciana”, “El Callejón del Beso” and the University. Its subterranean avenues are unique in the country. The “Callejoneada” is the typical tour accompanied by a musical group or “ tuna valenciana” other attractions are the “Museo del Quijote “ Diego Riveras´ house-museum and the mummies. Overnight.
Day 05 . Thursday GUANAJUATO - TLAQUEPAQUE - GUADALAJARA
Breakfast. We will transfer to Guadalajara. We´ll make a short stop at “Tlaquepaque” an important handcraft neiborhood . Arrival and lodging. Free evening to meet the cradle of “Mariachi” and “Tequila”, a city of spacious avenues that preserve its colonial beauty. Overnight
Day 06 . Friday GUADALAJARA
Breakfast. A visit to the main interesting places: “Hospicio Cabañas” that exhibits Orozco´s murals, “Teatro Degollado”, “Catedral”, “La Rotonda de los hombres ilustres”, “Las Plazas” and “Palacio de Gobierno”. Free evening. A visit to “Tequila” town that has destilleries of this liquor, famous all over the world. Overnight
Day 07. Saturday GUADALAJARA - PÁTZCUARO
Breakfast. We will meet “Pátzcuaro”, which name comes from the purepecha languaje, which means “The door of heaven)”. It is famous for its colonial beauty and original customs and population. It is located on the edges of “Pátzcuaro” lake. There are attractions such as: The miracle “Basílica de Nuestra Señora de la Salud”, “La Casa de los Once Patios”, “Centro Histórico” and “Isla de Janitzio”. in the porches of “Pátzcuaro” center we will enjoy a great diversity of coffee shops, restaurants and typical dishes. Overnight.
Day 08 . Sunday PATZCUARO - MORELIA - MÉXICO DF.
Breakfast. Continue our trip to Morelia City, Humanity Cultural Patrimony. Morelia is famous for its student enviroment and its magnificent colonial buildings of pink stone such as: “Catedral”, “Palacio de gobierno”, “Palacio Clavijero”, “Plaza Mayor”, the market of typical candies and the aqueduct. Transfer to Mexico City. Arrival and overnight.
Day 09 . Monday MEXICO DF.
Breakfast. On this tour you will sail through the legendary prehispanic channels of “Xochimilco” on a “trajinera” ( typical boat decorated with flowers). Then we´ll visit the majestic University City, where you will admire the amazing murals at the Library and the Olympic Stadium. At the return you´ll enjoy a tour by Insurgentes, the longest avenue in the city, famous for its distinguish modern architecture. Overnight
Day 10 . Tuesday MEXICO DF
Breakfast. Transfer to airport to take your flight back.
